Default Sportster 21 frontwheel on Street bob...

I did some part umber cross eferenceing, nd cae up with ome good info:

Th bearings for oth wheels are the same

The spacer etween the bearigns is different

The ABS module ont he left side takes the place of the spacer

So, I'm thnking the difference between the hubs is a width issue. rotor spacers are readily available, as is the use of thin washers to get rotor placement dead on.

Picked up a takeoff Harley 72 front wheel with 500 miles on it for a good deal, and before I just give up and swap hubs, want to see what is involved in making it work with rotor spcers and mabe modded axle spacer.

Anyone have any info about this they can pass on?

I don't know, I had a pizza cutter 21 on my '05 superglide and it was great.

I laced the Sportster rim (actually an aftermarket through J&P) to my stock hub. Nothing wrong with a narrow front tire. I've never seen anybody put a Sportster hub on a mid glide front end, but I'm sure somebody's done it. If you have the wheel already just throw it on and see what kind of spacers you need. If the axle is the same diameter you should be able to make it work.

Well, the guy selling me "72" wheel backed out and refunded my money.

May have been a blessing in disguise.

I ordered a 21X3.25 rim from Jireh today....$42.50 SHIPPED Gotta love Jireh prices....

Now I need a 2008-2013 hub. I can get a brand new chrome one from V-Twin Mfg for 200 bucks.....but would prefer having a hub in the same factory finish as my stock rear wheel.

Am I correct in assuming, I can just use Sportster factory spokes and nipples?

My goal is to have it look FACTORY and perfectly match the rear wheel.

Advice is welcomed. Anyone have the hub I can get from them?

'06-'07 hubs work, but you need a 6mm shim to take up the slack of the skinnier 25mm bearings....just FYI

I had a 21x 3.5 front on my Street Bob, it definitely handled great but looking back I would have went with a skinny front rim. I also chose black then and looking back I would have preferred spun aluminum rims in Silver. That bike was a great bike, I have since moved on to something more utilitarian
(FXDX)

I got mine built from Blackbike wheels
