Hurricane Sandy Bikes
The ones that the Ins. Cos. totaled that were in the dealer showrooms; Has anyone bought one recently? I have seen a number of them pop up on eBay with salvage titles. They have some great deals on otherwise new bikes. Im in NYS but not familiar with NYC. I am wondering how effected these bikes may be.
Thinking long and hard about this WG. Its not the color I want but the price is pretty darn good. Would ya?

I bought my bike new in new condition. Does that mean it may have been underwater? Lol. Would consider for half that price not a penny more. Some bikes have sets of problems even when they are not water damaged. It's like buying anything though might be the best bike you ever owned or the worst. That is in the hands of the V-twin gods!

Wayyyyyy overpriced for a salvaged title. They are making money from the insurance company and still trying to stick it to people as a salvaged title. They can go take a flying F. Whether the bike just got splashed with a hose or was pulled from 6 feet of water, they aren't going to tell you and nobody anywhere is going to honor a warrenty. They are asking about twice what they should be.

not worth the time IMHO.
I have a buddy who was one of the construction builders that went to Louisiana to help build new homes. While he was out there he ran across a 100th Annv Dyna that was water damaged. He couldn't pass up the deal so he bought it and shipped it back here. Long story short. Just about every bolt had to be heated up for removal or worse had to be drilled or cutoff. The rebuild ended costing close to what he could have paid for a used one that was still intact. Just not worth all the trouble to rebuild it. It would have been way easier to have bought one that was dropped by a newbie.
