Default Tire preference for Street Bob

I have the Michelin Scorcher "31"'s on my 2011 Street Bob right now and they seem pretty nice. I was just wondering what tires others have tried and what they recommend. I'm more focused on grip, handling, and safety; if the tires get great mileage as well that's an added bonus. Any opinions?

I have the Perelli Night Dragons. On my second set. They don't last that long, but they sure do grip.

Buddy of mine that I do the maintenance on his '07 Street Bob has settled on Avon Storm II for the rear and Venom (discontinued) on the front. The first Storm II that was mounted was the first tire I ever saw that wore out on the edges before the center after about 8K. The one on his bike now isn't showing those signs. I'm guessing that Avon made some changes between the two to improve the dual compound, either softening up the center or hardening the edges a little. The boy does ride hard and the mileage he gets is nearly double what he was getting with the original Storms.

Pirelli Night Dragons on front and rear. Running a 180 on the rear.
So far, they are the only set I can find that are Bias ply front and rear and are made for Harley rims.
Corner like Hell and stick to the road.

I put a Scorcher 31s back on when I had to replace my rear last but went with a 180. I didn't have a problem with them and got pretty good mileage. The whole I knew what I was getting thing.

Thanks for all the input. The tires you have mentioned are all ones I had been looking at (Avons, Metzelers, Pirellis, etc.), so I guess I was looking in the right area. Thanks again!
