Default dumb Exhaust debate

so me being the ******* i am me and my buddy got into it he has the same dyna as mine but black of course. Its all stock no filter no xieds but he removed all his baffles awhile back his new exhaust came in a bassani 2 in 1 roadrage. i told him t bolt it on and run it i don't think it will hard his bike he is already opened his exhaust having no baffles etc. i would imagine since he isnt increasing his air it would relatively be the same as the damage he could potentially have running his stock exhaust the way he is. i could be completely wrong but it makes sense to me. Any real info or knowledge would be helpful.

many will claim that changing your exhaust and or intake it will run fine aside from some possible decell popping. When I changed just my exhaust (2 into 1) the bike seemed to run better in the midrange but hit 70 mph in 5th and I could tell something bad would happen if I didnt back off.

I've got V&H slip ons on mine, and it pops like a bitch on decel. I've never had a bike dyno tuned so its hard to say whether its running **** or not because I have nothing to compare it to. That said the V&H website has some pretty grim looking graphs about how lean you bike is running with pipes and no tune.

Just exhaust should not matter.
Exhaust and air could lean a already lean bike.
I am not saying it would hurt the engine I am saying performance may not be as good that it could be without a tunner. Not a dyno.
The ecm will make adjustments for the engine but not performance.

Your right, no different, It'll run just as bad as when he had the de-baffled stock mufflers on.

If he did not replace the header gaskets it is possible he has a leak which will cause popping. Removing the baffles was not a good idea as how I see it. The exhausts are tuned with the baffle.
I think they have a performance baffle for them. Depends which road rage he has.

For anyone who is interested. I've had my Big Shots on for the past 5K miles. The bike seems to run better. And sounds great. No popping at all. I just finished installing my Big Sucker just a few minutes ago. I do plan on taking her for the Stage 1 tune in a couple of days. But I couldn't resist taking her for a spin around the hood. And I still can't get the smile off of my face. I can't wait to see what the tune does.
