just got a 93 fxdl and besides paint, i want to make it my own
where should i start?

other than paint the rest of the bike looks good, nice wheels and front end

Sign the bottom of the registration card, that will make it your own. I would leave it alone, it is already a cool one of a kind.

Research, research online.
Find what you like to change and look at your options.
In order for it to be personal you have to do the design yourself.
think of a look you would like to have then start researching for parts.
For me that is where the most enjoyment is.

The whole "make it your own" thing is Harley marketing BS. Repaint it (if you want) and ride the crap out of it...You made it your own when you paid for it...

Paint is in order IMHO.

The fenders, wheels and front-end are awesome. You're way ahead of the game. A lot of nice stuff seen in the pics. How's the engine?

Personally, an FXDL begs for a 2-1 pipe, but all that chrome looks nice.

I suppose I would look for mechanical stuff to upgrade once the paint is done.
