2009 FXDC - Seat Options
I have a 2009 FXDC that I bought last summer. I assume the seat that's on it was the stock seat when it was new. The bike has forward controls which I really like. However, at 5'7" and 30" inseam, I wouldn't want to set any furhter away. When I'm setting on the bike and stopped, my feet are flat on the ground, but just barely. My quesiton is, are there any seat options that would put me closer to the ground and further forward without giving up comfort? My wife will not ride, so a solo seat would be fine if that is the best option. Thanks.

There are a lot of seats that will lower you but most will push you back some, 1" at least.
I am 5'7" with 28 Inch inseam myself so I added the reduced reach forward control kit. It is nothing but the brake rod and 2 adapters. I am using a danny gray seat with back rest. I made a forward arm to push the back rest froward 1 1/2 inches. Works great for me. My legs are bent when stopped. and the controls feels really good to. See sig...

There are many more to check out but this is what comes to mind.

Thanks everyone for the input. ynots, thanks for the information on my curret seat and jpicht I'll keep your seat in mind as I continue my search. When I was deciding to buy this bike last summer my biggest concern was reaching the extended controls. That hasn't been an issue I've notice while riding, but I also haven't been on any ride over four hours. That might feel differnt on an all day ride. What I have noticed is trying to manuual move the bike forward or back, especially on gravel. I'm pretty much up on my toes to get any leverage.
