Question Exhaust volume, which system is louder/quieter?

2011 street bob, sert, Arlen ness stage1.

Bike has v & h shorts shots on it at the moment. I want to go to a 2>1 system, but don't want wake the dead noise so I gotta baffle the system.

Candidates are...

Pro pipe
Bub lakester
Supertrapp , don't like the look that much! But I know it can go quiet.
Fat cat
bassini road rage
Rinehart
Thunderheader

But I want to no if any1 has taken the volume down a bit, enough to keep the heat off me. A nice low pitched note preferred.

I have the D&D Fat Cat. There are 2 baffle options for them....standard baffle & big boar baffle. I have the big boar baffle & it roars. The standard baffle is more mellow, but still not quiet my any means.

My suggestion for good sound without being too loud would be the Pro Pipe with the quiet baffle. It will still sound good and make a good note when you get on it, but will be a fairly tame deep rumble when cruising. Great pipe, good sound, good performance & V&H quality is great.

I have the Bassani RR 1D5250 with the Quiet baffle - no problem crruising into the neighborhood, but if you twist it everybody can hear ya.

Well, I put on the pro pipe with the standard baffle. Its got some roar to it when on the gas. I would have to put a quiet baffle in to see how much quieter it makes it. My guess, like other V&H pipes, 2-3 db quieter.

I had short shots on my bike and switched to the Rinehart 2-1 ....very happy with this exhaust. Deep sounding exhaust, not to loud in my opinion unless you really get on the throttle.

I have the quiet baffle in the pro pipe. It is very tame at idle but still has a solid bark when the throttle is on.

I live in a neighborhood and work can take me in and out at all hours. Putting through at 2:00 in 2nd gear at just over 2k rpm, the sound is relaxed. As soon as I hit the 2 lane state road, I can echo off the trees.

Thunderheaders are loud and can be annoying like short shots. I've heard D&Ds and I don't think they sound very good. I have a bassani road rage and I think they look and sound the best in my opinion. Look up the bassani clip on here not posted that long ago.

The Bub 7 (by Bub Rinehart) are worth checking into. They have a deep aggressive tone without being obnoxious but will make some noise when you want it. They look about identical to the Rinehart 2:1 systems but I suspect a lot cheaper? Paid 491.00 shipped from JCMotors.
(My signature pic does not show heat shield over collector)
