What a fun project you're gonna start. I have almost no fab experience (except what I learn on OCC ) But I'll bet it turns out great. I have a lot of respect for guys who build there own customs.

Take your time, you will enjoy building it and enjoy it a lot more.
Painful not sure about, but diffidently a learning experience.
Flanders will make you a set of bars by your dimensions. They have made me several sets and their work is awesome.
I'm working on a headlight and intake for my 05 super glide. Not interested in a big tire/wheel but may go to a 180 through time.
Looking for a vintage look and the sleeper look.
Keep us posted and have fun, it is really is a lot of enjoyment doing it. Done it several times now.
have fun and remember if it doesn't work right take a break and think about it. My solutions and ideas happen when I am sleeping.

Thanks for the kind words brother. I'm currently building the bars I have two different types in mind worst case I sell the ones I don't like. I'm trying to give it a old school hot rod feel with new school engineering. This will be my first full build I have done a lot of fab work but never a whole bike.

There is a big difference in replacing parts for a so called custom look then there are customs.
Custom means only one of em, not unbolting something and adding something you bought from the internet. Some things have to be bought but custom bending, welding, forming or shaping or just plain fabricating that is custom.
I worked for a company that made river ratchets, farming equipment, and tank ratchets.
I now do only custom brackets/mounts for motorcycles. Majority of the work is for me.
I just finished a bike that I had been working on for 26 months.
It was a great feeling when I rolled it outside for the first time.
Just take your time, you will love it in the end.

I wouldn't pay attention to haters usmc1775. Cool that you're making something your own in a style that you dig. Good luck, sounds like a lot of fun.
