Default Tank lift issues...... Seat won't attach now

I bought a 3" tank lift and the deluxe option from DK customs so I could raise and bring back the rear of the tank along with the front so my handle bars wouldn't hit the tank. Got it installed and love the look but now my seat won't go back on. Any-one have this issue and overcome it some how?

Thanks ,

Rob

I can't visualize how the rear part would be a problem. Pictures? If anything I'm sure you could leave just the front lift on if the forks clear the tank...

I'll try and get a picture on here tomorrow. I had to use the rear lift in order to drop the tank backwards a bit as my handle bars were just barely hitting the tank when the bars were cranked all the way right.

You have to bend the tab on the bottom of the seat. The angle of the tank is different and the seat I'm sure is not sliding on. Mine is the same way with a two inch lift. Takes a little force to push the tab under. Nevermind. Just read u lifted the rear. Not sure now.

I did bend it but it still seem's about a inch off or so to high from connecting. It's hard to believe that little bit the rear is raised and brought back would affect it as much as it is.

I'm gonna play around with it some more tomorrow and see if I can bring the tank forward more with out the bars hitting and hopefully that'll give me enough clearance for the seat to latch.

Yeah, I just did a 2" tank lift and a deluxe option last week. On some seats you really need to push down on the seat, just a little forward of center to get it to latch in up front.

The seat pan is plastic, so as you push (hard) in the center of the seat, while moving it forward, it will get the tab down low enough to slide in.

Don't worry about the seat pan...it handles far more weight that you can exert by pushing down on it.

Bend the seat tab just a little bit more then push down really hard on the seat/pan. It will slide right in sooner or later. Once it does and you ride it a while it will form itself and future seat issues should be gone. DK and 07hdstreetbob are both correct. Had the same issue on mine. Now my seat is snug and fits tighter than it did new.

Which leads me to ponder my next invention. Vagina lifts.
