Default Stock pulley size

Anyone know the stock pully sizes on a 2012 FXDC (Super Glide Custom)?

Thinking about going one size up on the back pulley.

How bad does this mess with the speed-O?

Thanks in advance

66T. Im going with a 68T when I get my wheels simply because the wheels are coming as a package and I know I have the belt slack to go a little bigger. I kinda doubt the speedo will be off enough to notice.

So what the deal with the 30 tooth front verses a 68t rear ? My 2011 Wg sucks to ride at 40-45mph . Its to fast to slow cruise in one gear by boging in the next gear.

Changing the front pulley normally requires more dissassembly.

You could go down on the front pully, or up on the rear pulley, or you could do both.

This lowers the gear ratio.

It is recommended that if you change pulleys that you change the belt (not always necessary). Normally if you change the front pulley you will need a shorter belt. If you change the rear pulley, (sometimes) you have enough slack to properly adjust the belt.

Going one down on the front is just about equal to going up 3 on the rear.

Thats another reason Im going with a 68T rear. Eventually I plan on doing a 30T front pulley. So a 68T now will still allow me to run the stock belt AND keep it when I install the 30T front. The most common swap is a 30T front and a 70T rear but you would have to do the swap at the same time. There isnt enough slack in my stock belt to run a 70T rear only.

Any idea what a 30t gear swap cost 2011 Wg ? It would be nice to use 6th gear under 100.

A 30T front and a 70T rear will give you a final drive of 3.1568:1

Changing the front motor sprocket and chain will give you pretty much the same thing with a final drive of 3.1625:1 for less money and a lot less work.
If you put a slightly taller tire such as the Michelin Commander II, you can end up with a final drive of 3.085:1 giving you 3012 rpm at 75 mph. With the stock Dunlop, you will turn 3088 rpm at 75 mph.

Plus you speedo remains accurate. If you go with the 70T rear pulley and 30T tranny pulley, your speedo will be off by about 13% which translates to reading 75 mph at 65mph.

The Evolution Industries 30T sprocket and chain set can be had for as little as $220 on Ebay

Have you done that set up? I just went to EBAY and could only find them for $288. What I'm really concerned about is that the picture shows a sprocket bolted directly to the shaft with no compensator. Is that working out OK?

Thanks in advance.
