Default Question regarding riser bushings

I just ordered myself a pair of 1 1/2" bent ape beaters from brcustom bars for m 2012 fatbob. I also ordered a set of risers from them and am wondering if i will need a new set of bushing when i switch out the risers or if i can use the old set. Any info helps

thanks guys

If you go with apes or long risers I would go with polyurethane bushing.

yes they are. poly bushings are definitely a worthwhile upgrade. With the stock ones if i leaned on them at all moving the bike around the garage/parking lot the riser/bar assembly would rock back and forth noticeably. Zero movement now with the poly bushings. Bars dont seem to shake as bad while at idle either.

Put poli's in while it's apart. Cheapest upgrade you can do to a Harley.

Go for the poly's. I got mine from Dennis Kirk a year or so ago and it does make a difference and very inexpensive as well.

+1 on the poly bushings...

Just a quick tip, the torque spec for the riser bolts are between 30-40 ft-lbs, so 35 ft-lbs. However, poly bushings compress so don't torque them straight to 35 ft-lbs. Torque them gradually waiting a few minutes between each turn, until it's correctly torqued.

Least, that's how I do it.

I put 16" apes on my Road King. I forgot to pick up the poly bushings. There was about 2-3" of back and forth in the bars at the grips. Luckily it wasn't too bad to switch them out afterwards, but I did have to pull the headlight back apart. Good luck.
