i cannot find 1 that specifically fits my St Bob with mids. i can fab a guard to keep my ankle out of the spinning parts but i want a dry clutch n a big belt whirring around down there.
has any 1 here done it?

 

For the life of me I cannot see wanting an open primary with mid controls, do you wear shorts all the time? Ever wear shoes with laces?

It's your bike, but to me, open primaries are meant for forward controls.

 

i ran a 9 spring on the chop, NO WAY would i have run mids... and to be honest a open belt if you go with anyting decent like 2 inch is going to move you way to far out... i am not aware of any set up that makes one that even gives you an option

 

Looks cool but....Don't get wrapped up in your ride.

I remember a few years back in The Horse magazine a guy did a writeup on how to do that exact setup. If I remember sometime I'll dig and see if I still have that issue.

 

maybe we all need to stop wearing bell bottom jeans? i wear normal boot cut type jeans. i went for a ride on Sun and paid close attention to the amount of flappage and it was not an alarming amount. my ankle would not be by either pulley so i think all this "pants leg in the belt" stuff is silly.
so in the new edition of American Iron there is a bike built by Sakai with mids and 2" BDL open primary and a minimal guard Nacell. it looks like a legit set up.

 

if you can find this i'd really appreciate it.

 

here is the bike as of Sunday. i have all the parts to complete my rear fender and i'm hoping to be done with it by next week.
