Default Confused on exhaust and other needs

I've got a 2013 Street Bob with 500 miles on it and it is much too quiet. Can't hear it on the freeway!

Anyways, I'd like to put a set of Vance and Hines Big Shots Staggered on the bike because they're reasonably priced and they look great (though I wish the tips turned out). Now here's where the confusion sets in...

I keep getting told the bikes run super lean from the factory so if I got the Fuel Pak, would I also need intake? I kinda love the look of my round chrome air cleaner so I don't really want to replace it.

Kind of crazy how the Fuel Pack is over half the cost of the exhaust...

You don't need intake, but it will help performance. The stage 1 is designed to get more air flowing through the engine. The more air, the more fuel you can burn, the more power you get. The FuelPak gives you more fuel to burn. You can probably keep your AC cover and just get a better AC.

Here's some info on FuelPak. I believe it is just a mapping system. There are other systems that dynamically change the fuel level based on various sensor readings, like Terry Components. FuelPak is cheaper than the $800 of a SERT and dyno tune.

PS: I had the big shot staggered on my fatboy, and they sound badass.

Are the XiEDS the "cheap" fuel paks? Could I do Rush Slip Ons with XIEDS?

Not sure, I always bite the bullet and do the SERT+dyno. I've used the Terry Components kit once but was happy with it.

I have a 13 bob and I put v&h straightshots on it, as well as a fuelmoto air kit and their micro tuner. It sounds awesome and performs amazing. Btw, I use my stock a/c cover with the upgraded cleaner. Check into the micro before spending money on xieds. It's only a few bucks more, and the guys at fuelmoto know their stuff. They got mine dialed in damn near perfect, and my bike screams. I have no plans for cams or boring, so it fits what I need to a T. Can't recommend that setup enough.

This is exactly what I was looking for.

Thanks.

I put the Screamin Eagle Intake on my 2013 Street Bob when I did pipes had the bike thrown in the dyno. I kept the round cover cause I like the way the stock one looks as well.

You do whatever makes you happy with your bike! Rarely will 2 people agree on anything about bikes. Intakes, exhausts, and tuners are all preference. If you love the stock a/c then keep it! Will a new one improve air flow? possibly... will it keep you as happy as the one you have now? maybe maybe not.
