Default Another tire thread...or is it tread?

What are you guys running on your bikes? OEM Dunlops or the Metzler 880...or something other. I have spoke rims so tubeless is out of the question. I have always run the Dunlop but am ready for a change. Pros vs. cons. I know this horse has been beat to death but this is a new riding year so maybe something better is out.

Thanks everyone for the input.

Michellin Commander II is what I run. A little harder tire but I am getting good mileage out of them.

Michelin Commander II. Been running the rear for almost a year, approximately 5000 miles. Seems to ride, turn, and grip better than the 'Lop I had on there. Just put one on the front this week and can't believe the difference that made!! Much more responsive, and doesn't follow grooved pavement as much.

I bought some kenda's from Dennis Kirk. They seem like they will be ok. Only time will tell.

It all depends what you are trying to achieve.

I wanted to put a wider tire on the rear that had a better cornering profile and I went with Pirelli Night Dragons.
The Night Dragons are made for Harley rim width and are the only tires I could find that were bias front and rear.

Some Choices:
Dunlops stock
Dunlop Harley 502 (Maximuum rear size 180)
Michelin Commanders
Metzler 880 (maximum rear size 170)
Avon Storm 2 (maximum rear size 180)
Pirelli Night Dragons ( maximum rear size 180)

It is a matter of personal preference and what you want out of a tire.

I'll be trying the Michelin commander II's next, I'd say about a month from now if the weather holds!

They must really be worn!

I like Metzlers a lot. Goddard tires.
