Default Strange noise, need help

For about a week now my bike has been making a strange noise while accelerating. It only happens between 2300 and 2500 rpms as far as I can tell. It sounds like a grinding noise and seems to be coming from the front or around the engine area. It's hard to tell for sure. My bike only has 8000 miles on it and other than the noise it runs perfect.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Correction, on my way home I was experimenting and was able to determine that it happens pretty much right at 2600 rpms. I am wondering if it isn't just my valve train getting more noisy. it seems like it has been getting more noisy the more I ride it. I also think that the wind shield is reflecting the noise in my direction making it really stand out and sound more noisy.

This noise started when I was on my way home from a 350 mile ride. The first thing I did when I got home was open up the primary, adjust the clutch and check all the fluids. I found nothing out of the ordinary. I also checked all of my heat shield clamps because I did have one get loose on me a while back and made all kinds of racket. They were all tight. Is it possible that my valve train is just getting noisier and if so is that normal or something to be concerned about? It's always made noise but it is getting kind of ridiculous now. I'm thinking about switching to a different brand of oil to see if that changes anything.

Are you putting the correct amount in. What type of oil are you using? Different oils do make a difference. I found mobil 1 is the noisiest but works well. The windshield does seem to hold the noise in and sound louder.

That's what I'm using is Mobil 1 20W-50 in the engine and primary. I have no doubt that it is doing it's job since I have used it in my truck for 50,000 miles. The noise is just annoying. I would like to get it back to the level it was a few thousand miles ago. Also, I am very confident that I have been putting the correct amount in. I followed the manual when I changed it.

That was my next question, oil. In the TX heat, longer rides, you may want a straight 50w in the engine.

I know this sounds weird but check your front tank bolt.
