Default Fuelpak 61005A vs 61005B?

A friend of mine wants to sell me her V&H fuelpak for real cheap. The part number is 61005A and came off her 2010 WG and I have a 2010 Fatbob. I looked at the V&H website and the part # for 2004 - 2011 dynas is 61005B. So my question is what is the difference? I'm guessing it should be fine but just wanted an expert opinion from you fine folks.

Did you ever get a reply to this as I've been offered similar. Or did you just fit the 61005A?

No such thing as a stupid question!

I am actually selling my 61005A that came off my 2008 Crossbones and was designated as only being for the 08-11 Crossbones and Rocker. Someone wants to buy it and they pointed out to me that the part number on Vance and Hines site is not listed as 61005B. And it lists a bunch of other models that the unit will fit including Dynas, Sportsters and V-Rods.

Honestly I can't say why the number has changed. I did recently find out that the only difference between mine and one that was listed to fit other wide tire softails such as the Fatboy was that the plug wire was longer on one than on the other due to the different ways they mounted on the bikes.

Sorry. I realize this may not shed any more light on what you are asking. Just going by what the V&H site says the unit should work for you. I would go ahead and contact them directly with your question.

I think in my case, I should be safe to sell the unit to the interested party since it's going on the same model softail that I had it on.

61005A is for 2004-2011 Dyna's as well.

61005A:

61005B:

Contact V&H to find out what the difference is.

I just called V&H with the same question because I am buying the fuelpak from Skeez VH confirmed what the others said. They made a small update (longer wiring) and updated the part number. It will work fine.

Don't the fuelpaks "marry" themselves to the bike so you can't use it on another? I know the one I have is like that.

Nope. Fuel-Paks do not "marry" up to the ECU as other Tuners must.
