Default Clutch cable adjustment ?

My new to me 08 WideGlide needs some slack taken out of the cable .
I,v done this before on other bikes but having a problem with this one .

I,v had the bike about a month and no idea of the service it has got in the past . I can not get the adjuster to move After backing off the jam-nut .
I do see a little rust and shot some PB blaster in it . ANY IDEAS

Try squirting some penetrating oil in there

Have you tried loosening everything up at the clutch basket to take the load off the adjuster? The penetrating oil should sit overnight if it's really corroded. Then adjust the clutch basket then the handle. I use a dime as a feeler gauge, tighten the adjuster with the dime being held between the cable and housing, loosen the cable just till the dime falls out, and you tighten down the locknut.

Not trying to insult, but you are using an allen wrench on the end of the adjusting screw, not just your fingers?

he's talking about adjusting the clutch basket (under primary cover)

If you havent done so already let the PB blaster sit overnight then take your wrenches and give it your best shot. Check youtube for instructions for adjusting a Harley clutch (basket). Make sure you do it when your bikes cool. If your pulling the cover it would be a good time to change the oil in your primary

Heres a picture of the clutch basket. The adjusting screw and jam nut is in the center of the basket (above green line)

The bike has 8000 miles . I think the clutch is fine But after 2000 miles the cable needs readjusted is all ( It,s getting hard to get in neutral)
I have never seen rust like this on the cable adjuster ?

Ok, I am with you now - I just thought you were doing the entire clutch adjustment procedure, not just the clutch cable - sorry.

It is the bottom piece of the adjuster below the jam nut which turns, unless you already knew that. The top won't move at all.
