Default Purposely fade denim black

I bought a new rear fender for my bike but the denim fender doesnt match the rest of my denim bike. Is there anything i can do besides repaint the whole bike to try to get my new fender to fade a little before i put it on? I was thinking of leaving it out in the sun for a week or two or maybe put it under a high output lamp. Or am i just being crazy and theres no options? Thanks

Sunlight will eventually fade it but it may take time. Much cheaper than a re-paint though.

Default weather and sunlight

Leave it outside for a couple of weeks in the rain and sun and keep bringing it in to compare to the rest of the bike. Unfortunately no way to emulate the effects of time.

I don't like denim colors for this reason, you can can compound and polish gloss clearcoat to cut off the oxidation and make it match new paint, no dice with denim/flat

Just put it on and let the weather take its toll. Only you will notice. I had a rear fender painted flat black. It's definitely not the same as the factory denim but only I can tell and even then it's hard to notice. Both front/rear have been painted. Gas tank is factory. You'd have to take the fender(s) off and hold them next to tank to see.
