Default Synthetic or Petroleum engine oil

what is better for a 2000 1450 wide glide this bike has 14,000 miles on it all with syn 3 ...I been told syn 3 sucks for the engine but my friend that works at Herley he likes petroleum oil I was thinking switch to Amsoil but just in the engine leaving it in the primary and tranny any better suggestions ?

I use mobile 1 because its easily available (wally world) $9.99 qt.

For the sake of simplicity....go with Amsoil in all 3 holes. Great stuff IMO. If it is not readily available to you stick with the Syn3 in all 3 or one that is easy to get.

Synthetic runs a few degrees cooler. Important stuff here in Florida.

I believe I have done the research and I am convinced Mobile 1 is as good as the high dollar oils. I purchase mine at Walmart also. Every mechanic I talk to "Hates Syn III". I run Royal Purple in the Tranny and Drag Specialties for the primary. Coming up on 70k. I am due for a top end this winter, but that was my fault. I overheated the bike.
