Default 2010 fxdb turn signal and brake light problems

Hello all. Current problem is this silly bike keeps blowing the fuse for the turn signal and brake lights. My local shop helped me out with there being a bad bulb socket on the left side. Replaced the socket, and bulb. New fuse, fire the bike up to go for a ride and it pops the fuse. Wtf? I love the bike, and even tho its my first hog, its not my first bike. I'm not a mechanical idiot either, but this is really starting to **** me off. Any ideas on what else to check would help. Thanks.

The wireing runs through the bars, I thought that was how they all were....I've had this thing since Jan. The first issue was random breakage of the brake light and ground wire to the left turn signal housing.

Fuses blow because too many amps flow through them. It protects the wiring and equipment the wires are connected too. I would be willing to bet you have a hot wire going to ground somewhere. If it is intermittent it will be harder to find. have you changed anything recently? Also check under your fender. The wiring harness to your tail/brake lights run along the inner edge of your fender. Lots of people have had problems there.

I'm gonna pull the fender here in a few and start checking the wires there. Had to finish a customers truck before I could get back to the bike.

Also, remember...divide and conquer...sounds like it is only happening when riding? Front, rear, left or right? Methodically disconnect the plugs to whichever side or front/rear and ride it and see if the fuse blows. Once you know which section it will make finding it easier.
