I am adding a dedicated brake light to my 2016 Softail Slim S and am planning on relocating the stock rear turn signal light housings to the frame and am wanting to wire them up just to flash for indicating turning. I don't want them to light up for running lights or braking.
Here's a thread I started when I was looking for a dedicated brake light circuit wire.
It includes the solution as well as wiring diagrams to tell you where to find it.
You can easily ditch the running lights but unfortunately I don't see how you can separate the brake/turn function...

You have a dedicated signal wire in the front lighting circuit. If LED's are being used for signals simply run a jumper from the front circuit to the back. Because of the low draw with LED"s it will not overload. I did this for about a year on my 2013 Slim with LED signals in front and back and it worked fine.

Brilliant! I hadn't thought of that. I've already got the LED conversion in on mine so as you said should be simple enough.

Brilliant is right - good catch...
I never even thought of that.
Can anyone tell me the easiest way to jump off of the front circuit for a dedicated blinker wire? Where does the connectors click together for the front signals?

The front has three wires: run, signal and ground. I can't remember the colors off the top of my head as it has been a while and I am at work so can't look at service manual, but you can use a test light to identify wires.
The plug is under the tank. You can either de-pin and solder to the pins or cut the wires, solder and seal with shrink tubing. I ran the wires under the tank and seat, around the right side of battery along frame and then into rear harnesses. If you need more detailed instruction shoot me a pm.
