Default Dual filament brake turn question..

So I purchased turn signals (red) not knowing they would come dual filament.. I understand that the factory run brake turn controller is specific for single fil bulbs - is there a way to utilize these lights without having to swap the guts to single fil and utilize the dual fil functions? I thought running the wiring off the tail light and stock blinkers but will run into a problem once I hit the brakes and try to signal since the light will remain on... Thoughts?

Thanks!
Brian

I just converted my 92 softail to running/brake lights from my turn signals. I used the front turn signals and used a test light to figure out which wires from my brake light was running and which was brake light. I spliced the wires and ran a running light and brake light wire to each side and ran my grounds from each light to a spot on my frame. I also added a stock Duna side mount license plate while I was at it.

You have to use the dual filaments from the front of a bike in order to use them as running/brake lights. I didnt use mine as turn signals though, but Im sure you could. I also soldered and shrink wrapped all of my wires to ensure a solid connection

If you need me to I can go take some pics and tell you what wires are what? I hope this helps you

Yeah I was thinking of going in that direction but I want to use a blinker function in the mix.. If I were to wire blinkers and the brake light, my delema is when I hit the brakes and have my turn signal on, the brake light will over power the blinker - so I may have to bite the bullet and get one of those modules that works for single filament bulbs and wire it to the bright side of the dual filament harness I have...

Yea that would pose a problem then that would turn them into hazard flashers

You need the Run/brake/turn module from Custom Dynamics if you want full function

I looked at the custom dynamanics module but it's for use on a single filament type bulbs... I may just have to run the brake type wire on the blinkers and utilize one of these modules and say the hell with the running function of the blinker light.. I think that's my only option from this point forward
