please help! new to harleys
i recently purchased my first harley. Its a 2014 dyna street bob. I put a bassanni road rage and now am buying an intake i know after you do both you have to do the stage 1 tune. Harley wants 1100 for the programmer and dyno. i have a vance and hines fuel pak for the 2013 dyna models will it work if i put the 2013 tune in it? any other ideas or options? any input is greatly appreciated!!

I think someone just posted about this the other day. Anyways, welcome to the Harley family! I put V&H short shots on mine and a Kuryakyn mach 2 at the same time. Never bothered to flash the ECM or buy a tuner and the bike runs just fine. Has for 6000+ miles. Adding a tuner or flashing the ECM MAY make it run better, but for the most part you wont notice. And I would say if you have a 2013 Fuel pak it would work just fine if your engine were a 96ci. I think in 2014 they moved to the 103ci though if im not mistaken. Putting a tune for a 96ci engine on a 103ci engine might not be the best idea. But if I couldn't find a map for a 103, I'd run nothing at all as opposed to paying the money if the bike seemed to run alright and wasn't running too rich/lean. Have you tried calling the folks at Fuel Pak? Technical Support for Fuel Pak: (562) 921-0071. Might ask them or see if they can send you the appropriate map for your bike/engine.

Contact V&H at fuelpakfi.com
Give them the info and get them to send you a new map. You could put the map from 2013 into it if it is the same setup, but I would recommend confirming it with V&H.
The Fuelpak should be the same model to fit 2013 and 2014.
AFAIK: not much system wise has changed between 2013 and 2014.

I have 2013 Fat Bob with Vance and Hines Big Shots Staggered and Screaming Eagle Air Filter with Power Commander V. I never did the ECM and Dyno that the recommended. The bike run great except there is a lot decal popping. I learned how make an adjust on mapping to eliminate the decal pop. It did take about 4 or 5 times of playing with the map. Now not only the bike runs great, I have no decal pop whatsoever.
Good luck!

so you never did a tune or dyno or anything and it runs fine? whats the worst that would happen if i put the intake on and didnt tune it? major problems? just run rough?
