Default Exhaust question

Went to the dealer today, they said if I install my rush 2 into 1 without a tune that it could burn up my motor. Is this true? I have the stock air cleaner and just want to run my exhaust.

Thanks, Im sure this is asked all the time.

You should be ok without a tune if you are just doing exhaust, but do yourself a favor and change to a stage 1 intake (bike will run cooler). You really should look into some kind of tuning option too (a must if doing both pipes and AC). There are several options that aren't real expensive and your bike's performance will greatly benefit.

Check for package deals (pipes, AC, tune) to save money, Fuel Moto is a good place to start!

Good luck!

Tons of people on here have swapped out exhaust or air cleaner. The consensus seems to be should you do both you will need a programmer. Just trying to figure out what HD dealer. Got it.

A ECU will auto tune for little things like that man. Dont let them rob you
Its more air out. You wont run lean. To give yourself piece of mind just run 91 Octane fuel

The main thing about a program is gonna be to remove limiters and such to let your bike breath better. Id give it a tune but later down the road and for performance reasons only

Some people say you dont have to, but why chance it on a 15-20k bike? If it were just slip ons you would probably be good, but full exhaust I wouldn't want to be the one to find out if it will be okay without it. Whats 500 bucks for a tuner compared to... however much it will cost to rebuild if it really does mess up your motor.
