Default Wheels and a dumb *** question

Been looking at posts with bikes and custom wheels. My question is...Why are the aftermarket wheels so pricey? Seems like $1200 bucks for one wheel is the going rate. WOW!!!

Because they think because the wheels are custom that means they can charge way too much for them. Also because a lot of people(not me) are willing to pay those prices.

I have never bought a motorcycle without wheels on it .
You buy custom wheels your old wheels are worth very little ?
So $1200 for new custom wheels sell the old wheels for 100 bucks sounds like a money maker to me .

You spend $1,200 to make back $100, how is that a money maker?

Take a look at the Harley mag wheel options. They are actually more reasonable. Not as many options but you can get a set for the cost of one custom from most other manufacturers.

My Southern Motorcycle Works wheels were $1500 and that included a matching pulley and 3 brake rotors. Pretty much all aftermarket wheels are way more expensive than they should be in my opinion. I can buy 4 forged aluminum 18" wheels for my truck for same price. Its ridiculous. But Roland Sands takes ridiculous to a whole new level. I refuse to buy RS stuff just on principle. 1200-1500 for 1 wheel?? Everything they sell is WAY overpriced. It must be made from unobtaineum or something.

I been thinking, damn, I bought a set of 20" wheels(4) for my truck and paid less than $1500 for them. When I start the mods on my bike, a new set of wheels would be really cool. It may be waaaaay down the road.

My local Dealer just put a new Wheel Display and I was looking at it last week .
Most Harley wheels run about 650.00 each .
