Default 39 mm forks with intiminators and straight rate springs..anyone done it .?

I'm startin another thread about the 39 mm dyna front forks as the other thread is about the 49 mm forks ....I have ordered the intiminators .springs ..looking at getting the sm adjusters to finish it off ...I did the search .didn't really come up with much info .I'm hoping its just a drop in and go .I don't remember spacers in my forks .my sm doesn't show any either ..

As I mentioned in the other thread, I'll be watching your progress with great interest.

Do you plan to use Amsoil, if so, what weight?

I'm running Racetech single rates and 10wt shock therapy along with the intiminators on my 04. Granted, I should probably shave the spacers a little more, but the front end does pretty much what I tell it to, and shrugs off trashy roads.

most of the aftermarket single-rate springs are shorter than the stock springs, and require a PVC or steel rod spacer to fill the gap. Depending on how long you cut the spacer can affect the travel a bit.

fordfaith,

I assume you used Scheudle 40 pcv pipe for your spacers, yes? What size (diameter) pipe works in our 39mm fork tubes?

Thanks.

Ok..got my springs in from traxxion today .they are 30x300x1.0...also in the box were two spacers about 8 in. Long .so from what I understand from my research is my 01 fxdl doesn't have spacers from the factory.and from the other thread ,I guess if your bike had spacers stock then they don't send any .any way got a shipping conformation from ricor so hopefully after my fork oil and pre load adjusters get here I will be working on my forks .contacted sway away about shocks ..looks like its gonna be 10-12 weeks on them ..anyone reading this still happy with the shocks .??

No not yet ..the intiminators and preload adjusters should be here next couple days .shocks will be a couple months ...from what I'm reading it will be about the same as the other thread .our forks don't have factory spacers .I ordered my springs from traxxion .but I also contacted sonic springs and got a immediate response .if I hadn't already ordered from traxxion I would've ordered from sonic .
