Default Idle??

been riding bikes for a long time but just bought my first Harley..a 2013 Wide Glide. Its cold here now and idles around 1250-1350. As it gets warmer it seems to idle a little lower 1100 or so...does that seem correct?

Yes, I am OCD about things like that. Ive been reading a lot because of my little knowledge of Harley motors and wanted to make sure it was in the correct range. Thanks

The idle speed will come down to around 1050 rpm after it's broken in, usually under 500 miles.

Not sure how this would happen. The idle speed is set by the ECM and it should stay that way until it's changed electronically, either by a dealer or tuning device.

Higher rpm levels on a FI bike when cold is very normal.
If you turn the engine off before it idles down to normal rpm's with will effect the idle rpm's. The computer will think the higher rpm is the normal rpm thus have a higher rpm.
If that makes sense.
Let the engine get to the normal idle before cutting it off.
However after warm up to operating temps it should drop the idle to normal.
Unless you have a digital tach I doubt you can really tell the exact rpm any way.
