Saddle Bag Supports

Saddle Bag Supports
Has anyone made their own saddle bag supports? Looking at them it doesn't seem like it would be all that difficult, but trying to figure out any tricks or things I should watch out for.
These are something I was thinking about. There is a slot for easy removal just by loosening the bolts. I'm planning to paint them black also.

I would not trust the one you posted. But that's me.
They are easy to make, I have made a lot of em for folks.

Any ideas on mounts that don't require me to move my turn signals? My bags I got are small, so they should fit between the shocks and turn signals. I was thinking the slots in the mounts would be a good idea for ease of removal. I agree the "U" shaped mounts would be sturdier, but don't want to have to relocate my signals when the bags will mount in between.
