Default Powder coating exhaust???

So I have a set of Rinehart Crossovers. They originally came with chrome heat shields and black ceramic mufflers. I powder coated the heat shields matte black when I bought them 4 years ago to match the mufflers. What I would like to know is can I power coat the heat shields and mufflers gloss black? Will the powder coating soften or bubble up on the muffler due to the extreme heat being made? Thanks.

Low temp Pcoat will melt and blister, there are high temp types that would probably work.
Where's our Pcoat expert?

You need to talk to Joe from the Powder pros. They're a sponsor of the forum.

Regular powder coat is fine. Done it with no probs at all. Shields don't get anywhere near 400 *

guys we are all missing the major factor here. The bike and the pipe! some pipes like T headers for example just run WAY to hot for powder, high temp is the only option. If the bike just has an intake and pipes and is not running a tuner will be way to lean and put off way to much heat for powder. If your bike is dialed in as it should be, and you are rocking the right pipes we coat them all the time. However due to factors outside of our control we are not able to warranty these as I can not do anything about outside factors such as the bike tune... that said we have done hundreds of pipes/shields with awesome results!

if you are not running a T header DO NOT use high temp powder on shields! it will likely run into issues as it has to reach its operation temp to final cure in operation and will be very weak coating prone to chipping and peeling

I just had mine done locally. I bought this exhaust for super cheap cause it had a few scratches. I have only ridden it twice, but the powder is holding up good so far.
