09 FXDFSE or 14 FXDF
Looking at a new bike. I'm not sold on the look of the new fxdf and in particular the rear guard and tank "badging". I can get an 09 cvo with less than 10k miles for the same money as a new fxdf. Way I see it CVO "uniqueness" and 110 SE motor vs warranty and abs. Which way would you go and why? Thanks (P.S. my 09 fxdf has now been sold)

Get the new bike. The CVO is so over rated it's nuts. My buddy has a Dyna CVO. Been telling him for the last several years to get it dialed in.... Beat him with my old Sportster(mild build). Stayed right on him with my 80" FXR last year, and beat him a couple times on my 96" Dyna w/ pipe, tuner and air cleaner. Pisses him off that he spent all that money, for... A pretty bike.
He finally got it tuned.. Baseline run. 72.5hp and 102.8lbft
After tune. 85.6hp and 110.5lbft.
Well respected independent tuner in the area, and NOT a Harley shop dyno... Don't know any other info, as that is what was texted to me the other night. Haven't seen the chart or anything.
Buy what you want, and BUILD it.

Thanks. Was actually keen on a breakout but with our kind of riding the limited ground clearance and poor handling compared to the Fat Bob put me off (basically fell if I get it wrong I'd have more chance of saving myself on the fat bob given its attributes). Guess I could always change out the rear guard and repaint the tank on a 14. I retained nearly all my bits so to upgrade a 14 back to where my 09 was wouldn't take much.
