Default Has anyone used/moded a Larin jack?

http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00DEC...&robot_redir=1

A buddy of mine had this for his bike that he sold and offered it to me for 40 bucks. Not sure if this would work or be able to use that 'Sears jack mod' I've been reading about.

I use the sears jack right out of the box with no problems on my 09 SG. Takes a minute to position it just right but that's about it

So what is the deal then with everyone saying you need the adapters from harley or to modify your jack?

The guy selling it is saying they had no issues with the Larin lifting his 05 bob either

It's a little tricky. My bikes frame isn't even underneath on both sides but I got it to work just fine

As you can see the frame dips down back by the tranny. But as long as you position the jack right and strap it. You're good to go

I have that Larin jack for about 8 years. When I got it there was an included accessory frame that bolted onto the lift arms that had four v blocks adjustable for width and height. The bike had to bee upright in a wheel chock to slide the unit under. Then adjust for the spacing and it held the bike very secure when lifted.

It did take a little time to mount and adjust so most of the time I used it without the attachment and it has done a fine job. I got it at a Farm and Fleet store. They handle many Larin products which are identical to the Harbor Freight products.

Good to know. He's coming in town Friday and asking 50 for it. If it works fine with the bike I'll likely get it even though I don't have the need for it all that often. Would sure make cleaning the spokes easier that having to keep rolling the bike every few minutes.
