08 Superglide sidecar work in progress!!! Picture heavy... Update 1!!
Well i never planned to get a sidecar but when one is offered at no charge i feel it would be wrong not to use it. So today starts a bit of an adventure in motorcycling for me.
What i have here is a mid 80s Velorex 562 series side car. My friends dad has a 31 Harley that he wants to fab a sidecar up for, he got this sidecar and decided against using the frame work for something more original.
as you can see it is a bit rough but solid where it matters.
It needs reupholstered, painted, windshield and mounting hardware.
New wiring and maybe a light setup on the front. She may not look like much , but she's got it where it counts.
Now my bike is a 08 fxd which i have made my own/or copied others with depending how you see it, but i have got it where i love the look and ride of it.
Nothing special compared to most of your bikes.
Smt machining wheels, 13.5 progressive 970 rear shocks, racetech front with emulators.
So what im planning on doing is finding a way to quick connect/disconnect the sidecar so i can have the best of both worlds. I plan to document each step and keep anyone interested up to date on the progress. Really trying to do as much as possible on my own but for final install i plan to use a shop that is knowledgable on the ins and outs of sidecar setup and fine tuning.
Thanks for reading and taking a look

ok so today was first day i have had to tear into it.
I seperated Cab from frame and took it to the car wash to spray it out.
taking it apart
seats are in pretty bad shape, but no worries
Blue inspecting his Chariot, Yes he is getting goggles, scarf, and Cap.
Blue Checking for structural integrity as well.. He is pretty thorough when checking out his vehicles.
stripped out cab
i will post more in a bit gotta run
