Default Streetcafe!

Heres little story of my cafe vision...

Sorry my bad english, bare with me! =)

Ive always loved harleys and that feeling of freedom with them.
I had a several bikes in my past, sportbikes and dirtbikes. But never feel the same contact than a Harley!
Always loved the caferacers like hell too,so this project kind of combined these two worlds to me.

I had harleys before. Started with Buel and worked it little.

Then streetbob, made it looking more like me.

Then V-rod Night rod. molded that too a little.

Video:

But then one day a guy from city of Tampere call me and told me that he wants to buy it.
I thought the offer a week and sold the bike for good money!!!

Then in 2012 summer i got this one. 2011 Streetbob! Always liked the dyna,so the choice wasnt that hard.
Rest of the summer goes like that:

But something like coffee was still in my mind...

Fall came,and the project starts!

Thru the summer i allready got from ebay this universal cafe rearpiece that i was going to sit on the bike.
I also got Rsd diesel wheels, Thunderbike Funride exhaust, Hagon nitro 11,5" shocks and 4" aircleaner kit for the bike. I had the same exhaust in my first bob too. Liked the vintage hotrod look to it. Sound is great, not too loud and the specially the power that thing delivers!!!

WHAT!!! Thats going to be caferacer??? =D

I cut the struts and grind the new shape for rearpiece. Rearpiece is going to sit firm on the stuts so that why i cut them like that.
Also i removed the tank stock fastenings.

Cafe rearpiece needed alot work to make it sit on the frame like i wanted.
it needed more fiber on the sides, more lenght and broaden.

heres the faces of the work and final molds
Theres also molds for airgleaner and bellypan for the bike...

Find a perfect handlebar! LSL Sport Tourer, that narrow look is a killer!!!
First i was going to put clipons but the tank would have to be chanced or molded to work whith them. Bike was so new that i didint want all the funktions remowed from the bike. so tank stays and LSL handlebars.
I manage to reroute the clutchcable,so i dont need to chance it! Great! =) Driving position was great with that bar and mids.

Headlight is going to be v-rod style.
I made model bracket for the light from sheetmetal first,so know its easy to make final bracket with steel.

Becouse i didint want to touch the fueltank, and caferacers have kneedents in the tanks, i thougt i play with paint to make it look like there is...
Something like that. =)

Theres the new fastening fot the tank. Made a rivetnut to the frame.

The front end is going to be black too. First i thougt that i do that with powder, but then i desided to test the plastidip. its very good stuf when you do the job well! i have driven the bike now about 6000km and wash it meny meny times. Still the paint looks like new!!

Finally got the rear piece out of the mold and make it sit on the frame.
When i get the Rsd wheels installed,i can make the final shapes for the rearpiece.
Its strong enough to hold passenger,i strengt the piece with wooden bows under the piece, wich i laid over with fiber! So the tail lays top of the struts. Rearpiece going to be bolted to bike with 4 screws with rivetnuts , below of the seatframe .
Seat frame is ready too, needs foam and leather...

Theres coming sinked led stribe rearlight in to the rearpiece, thats why the gut on the back.

Then i blacked out the hole front end with dirtbike dustcovers and 3m vinylfilm.
The bracket for the headlight is ready too.
