Default New Apes!

Been on here for a while and don't post much but figured I would share some pics of my Wide Glide with the new bars.

14" Wild1 Outlawz, I couldn't be happier. I am 6'2" and this was a much needed upgrade for me. Unfortunately I am leaving for Korea in a week so no riding for me for a while, but I just had to get it done before i left. The ride is so much better now. I had no idea how much more comfortable I would be with the apes. Now gotta save up over the next year and put some cams in when I get back. Tell me what you guys think.

Its amazing how apes change the handling and comfort on bike. I own a 2012 wide glide I'm 6`1 and the stick bars hirt my back after riding for an hour after the ape install my back and handling are better off.

I have always been a chrome guy. Never really bought into the blacked out look. Nothing against it just not for me.

The bars help with back and hips the most for us taller guys. I will never have another bike with drag bars or anything close to them again.

MacKo: I didn't install the bars myself. It is a royal PIA to do bars especially running the extended wires in the bars so I took it to my local indy and had them do it. I ordered all the cables and bars from a place in Austin called Hill Country Customs. They send you all the right lengths based on the bars and risers you plan on running. Pretty much the easiest way to order all the stuff you need to do a bar swap.

And thanks Robbie and Rock103 your guys bikes look awesome!

looking go bro! im so torn between these bars the road6 holey roller bars and the burly Narrow 14s! I never knew choice of bars would be so hard what made you go this route? I really like the narrow grip look but also with a good amount of height, seems impossible to find nowadays lol

I don't think bars are too bad. Baby powder the crap out of the bars and use patience and persistence. Extended cables aren't really necessary unless you about 16". Kinda a PIA, but worth saving a bunch of money. Check out LA Chopper cable kits through JP and Dennis Kirk.
