Want to chop my fender...looking for ideas!!
Currently have a 12 fxdc and with the burley slammers in the rear i love the way the fender looks....especially with no plate and eventually no taillight...however i purchased a fender off of i think 2010 fxdb...i got a good deal on it so i scooped it up with plans of chopping it..looking for pics, ideas, or maybe even a place to get er done....also what do i do about the struts, i know i would have to cut them as well but how far...can i remove them completeey??

Pistol please don't chop up your perfectly bada$$ bike! If you chop off the struts you would be looking at big time repairs and $ to put it back original if you ever wanted to. I say sell the fender you just bought and put that money towards shaving, filling, smoothing your original fender. Long, clean, de-cluttered fender with those long pipes you have would look top notch! Just my opinion, but I'd hate to see your ride get chopped up.

I really like the look of the Rocket Bobs Dyna fender....nice and low profile but with built in struts so you can run 2-up in the future if you'd like - hack em now but have the peace of mind for the future. That is my plan at this point too - looks really nice with the "Kellerman" rear signals and bar as well IMO.

First you need to ask yourself will you be riding a passenger. If you just want to trim the existing fender just get some painter's tape and put it on your back fender and go to town with a sharpie until it looks good to you. Then go from there. And I agree, the Rocket Bob's fenders look great but they are pricey.
