Default Thinking about trading to a Dyna, What to expect?

thinking about stepping up from a 1200 sportster to a wide glide... test drove a used 2010 today

I've put about $1000 into my sportster replacing all the junk parts...
-clutch
-stator & voltage regulator
-starter

plus done a lot of modding to make it really nice so it would suck to trade in and have to spend all that money again...

but Are dyna's more reliable in stock form than sportsters? I drive motorcycles really hard, so if it's breakable I'll probably eventually break-it.. but are there any common problems I should expect?

I have 60,000km on my 2010 and no issues with the Clutch, Stator or Starter

Whatever you buy, if you're going to flog the guts out of it, it will cost you money....

We only like our Dynas because they have a tendency to fall apart and we prefer to wrench instead of ride. Lol

I had a stock 883 for 8 years and that thing was bulletproof. Never once let me down. Probably get called for blasphemy but i believe if you leave stuff alone they last a good while no matter what it is.

Gotta pay to play too. You run the crap out of something it will run the green right out of your pocket

Thanks

Sportster are known for those problem parts, including wheel bearings, and some other small things... but nothing too major...

So Dyna's, around 2010's, don't have any known common issues?

what kind of mileage should I expect?? getting 47-48 in a 1200C which is hard to complain about, I'd have a hard time trading in for something that gets under 35 since I commute a lot.

Big Twins aren't made to be dogged. They're big. And they're heavy. And they're not built for it.

If you want to go fast on the cheap, buy a rice-burner and a big helmet.

Just sayin'

I've rode my Street Bob fairly hard, no problems. I usually get around 40 mpg.

Traded my 2009 Sporty 1200 two years ago for the 2012 WG when they paired it with the 103ci engine and have never looked back. The extra muscle is great and don't no how I survived without the 6th gear. Highly recommend the trade up.
