Went to start my bike today and I noticed while I was starting up, my red oil light was flashing until the bike was actually running. This is the first time I have noticed it. What is causing this? Do I need to be worried about this?

 

Does it go out instantly when the bike is started?

Oil Pressure Sensor or wiring could be going bad. Wiggle the wires coming out of the sensor (it's on the front of bike near cam cover) with just the ignition on bike off, see if that does anything to the light.
