Default New Arlen Ness big sucker stage 2

Just bought an Arlen Ness big sucker stage 2 for my 2011 street bob. I also have Vance & Hines slip ons. Was just wondering if I should get my bike retuned. Asked 2 friends and got 2 different answers. Thanks

Welcome to the Forums from Central IL, when I bought mine it only had Pipes changed and had Vieds installed on it but when I added my high flow A/C I got a EFI Tuner from Fuel Moto and installed it. Runs great but fuel mileage has went to hell only 36-37 now but no complaints otherwise.

Welcome.
You should get it tuned. The good news is there's a ton of posts here on that very subject, with all kinds of suggestions. The bad news is pretty much the same.
So take the time and do your homework, read up about the different options available to you and decide what makes most sense for you.

I've been reading many great things on the V&H fuelpak FP3 it's actually a tuner you might want to look into that one. Really the only bad things I have seen on it is people who don't like their previous products but they are way less advanced

Can dealer do the retune? Or is it to expensive? Only reason I ask is I have a dealer literally right across the street from my neighborhood.

As far as I know all dealers can, to be sure you might just want to call them up tell them what you want to do, and get a price quote.

The dealer can do a couple of things. They can do a download which is a canned map. I think it's a waste of money since they're restricted by the EPA from making the bike run any richer. Some owners claim it works great for them and that's their opinion. There's no way a download can come close to reaching the potential a real tuner will give you.
The dealer can also sell you a tuner and dyno run for a lot of money. Everybody says they can dyno a bike but there's more hacks out there than you can imagine. So if you decide to go that route, get recommendations for the best tuner in the area and talk to them.
If you want to look into various tuners, try TTS, PowerVision, Thundermax or a piggyback tuner like the Power Commander V. There's also the XIED which is a simple device that fools the ECM into adding more fuel. Around $100 and takes ten minutes to install.
Somebody mentioned FuelMoto, give them a call and talk about the possibilities. They are highly regarded around here.

Curious why you bought the bulky stage-2 AN air cleaner when you are only doing stage-1. Even the stage-1 flows enough for a stage-2 bike.

Looks like the V&H fuelpak is only for 2012 and on Dynas. Am I wrong?
