Default Sissy bar option 2012 FXDWG

I purchased a detachable side plate setup with low upright sissy bar,
HD part #52300-050 which is listed as a "low upright". Does anyone know if the "short upright" designed for earlier Wide Glide models will work with the detachable side plates for a 2012 WG. It looks like even though the upright bar for the 2012 is round the end of the upright that mounts into the side plates is square stock, so any upright should work. Am i correct?

According to the parts catalog only those for 2010 and up will work.

I have a detachable kit on mine and yes it should fit as long as you stay in the 2010 & up like Chase said. I don't know of you installed everything yet, but the flasher kits are a pain in the arss to play with ! I ended up using a micro quick connect plugs in the flashers instead of making a direct welded wires under the fender. Much easier to dismantle the back wiring from that tiny hole in the flasher tubes. IMO, i would stick with the MID bar also, much more appreciated for the passenger, my 9 y-old son feels way more safe ...and me too
