I'm having an issue with my back brake. The brake light works fine with the front brake but not when the back brake is depressed. Any suggestions or things to check to track down the problem? Any suggestions appreciated.

 

You didn't post year make model but my 09 flhx had a rear brake switch recall.
Switch would fail due to plastic switch melting by exhaust due to heat.

 

Sounds like the rear brake switch. I'd consider replacing it.
