Try disconnecting the rear brake light switch. All you have to do is pull 1 wire off the switch. If the brake light is still on then look at the front brake light switch. Make sure the brake lever is returning all the way forward. I can't think what would cause a brake light to stay on after a few miles.

Did the brake light go out once the rear brake light switch was disconnected? If YES, then try checking the rear brake light switch with an ohms meter. It should read open or infinity when the rear brake pedal is not being pressed. If it has continuity without the brake pedal being pressed, then the switch is most likely bad.
Does the brake light work correctly when the front brake lever is pulled?
