audio control switches
i have a 05 flhr that i put a kuryakan fairing with stereo on.i would like to put on the HD oem handlebar audio housing and switches.ive emailed two of the near bye HD DEALERSHIPS and havent heard back from them yet.i understand that the radio that came with the fairing might not be compatible with the HD oem switches and might have to change the radio,,im fine with that.i just dont know what else might have to be done under the fairing..

I switched my Roadking to an ultra, including the handlebar controls for cruise control and radio switches, including volume and channel changing,
It was very hard to do, I ran the wiring thru the handle bars which was a feat in it's self.
secondly, running the wiring to the radio was another problem.
Biketronics has a conversion that allows an aftermarket radio with Harley controls.
Mine works well, but it took a while to complete. like 25 hours of labor.
It was worth it, Yes for me it was. But it depends on how much money you want to spend, and how long you want to take in completing this task.
I would wait till next fall to do this.
If your an electronics guy, go for it, or if you have a buddy, that knows electronics go for it.
I purchased a electronics manual, and a repair manual for my conversion, I needed both.
the cost of just those manuals were $40 each.
I have about $1800.00 in my radio, wiring labor, and handlebar controls parts.
Oh, I had to purchase a new handlebar with holes in it. $60 used.
