Default handlebar radio controls

I have a 2004 Road King Custom and it does not have any radio/audio controls nor does it have cruise control. I have purchased and installed an aftermarket fairing and radio and it all works great. BUT, I have no changed my mind and would like to add the radio controls to the thumb switch housings.

1st: does my road king have the wiring already for audio controls and its just not being used because it did not come stock with a radio?

2nd: can I buy switches and housings that do have the audio controls and plug them in to an existing harness to run a radio (even a stock Harley radio)

3rd: if above cannot be done, does anyone have any suggestions on what they have used to accomplish this task. I am willing to change radios or anything I need to put the controls on the handlebars. I am wanting it to be set up where all controls are done with the thumb controls. I don't need cruise control that spot can be used for audio as well

Road King don't have a radio control . Yes you can use one from SG or UC or RG.
If you wanted one without a cruise control . I got 1 for sale from an 07 SG .
Complete replacement

You cannot simply add the handlebar controls. The RKC is missing the Interconnect Harness that connects the radio to the handlebar controls, and other components, headlights, and turn signals being two of them. You can see the harness here:

http://partsfinder.onlinemicrofiche....20INTERCONNECT

Your Main Harness that you plug the Interconnect into is here:

http://partsfinder.onlinemicrofiche....20INTERCONNECT

You can do it, but there will be some connectors that you will not use, and can tie off, or carefully remove.

True it is missing the interconnect but I will be using after market radio with steering controls so I could plug ligts and turn signals from new switches into current harness and radio controls into the PAC swi-ps box for controller. Correct?

It will work you just need to use and transfer the harness from your bike and the wires that can't be transfered are the wires that controls the steering wheel controller with any aftermarket radio
