Default Alarm will not disable 2011 FLHTK

Proximity of fob is not disabling the alarm on my 2011 Ultra Limited. Have a fully charged battery, have replaced 3v battery in the FOB (ensuring it was right kind), and no luck. I've also tried to input the 5 digit code using the turn indicators and either I have the wrong code or something else is going on from keeping that from fixing it.

Any help or advice is appreciated!

Did you try the backup fob? The code is in your manual unless you changed it... then you are supposed to write the new code in the spot in your manual... I have had it happen to, but so far it has always turned out to be the battery in the fob

Thanks, have been unable to locate the 2nd fob (moved from Korea in the last year and things get hard to track down sometimes) but will check the manual for the code. Do you happen to know where that would be in the manual?

There is an entire section in my 2011 manual, dedicated to the security system. I had the same problem only a few days ago and had to replace the batteries in both my fobs! It is well worth rooting out that 'spare'.

Yeah, the spare.....gotta find that but probably on the back burner til after I enjoy a few days vacation starting tomorrow (luckily riding is not critical to the plan).

Today I disconnected the battery from the bike in hopes that would "reset" the alarm but no luck. Starting to think my fob is just bad or got unassigned somehow. I have the manual and see how to input the code to bypass but I don't see where the original code may be identified. I don't recall changing it after I took delivery.

The code may be as simple as a row of zeros! Call in the Touring forum and take a look around. Lots of stuff gets dealt with over there!

Any chance you put the battery in the fob upside down?

No, I checked, double checked, then checked again. Twice.

And it looks like it only fits in one way based on the shape of the housing.

Positive side faves the inside of the housing. If you look closely at the plastic it tells you where the positive faces

If you are able to contact the dealer you purchased the bike from, they should be able to help you with the code. if you haven't changed it they should know what they programmed it to.
Hope this helps you.
