TC 88 2002 Heritage Engine Problems
My Heritage overall runs great. But I can be going down the road and it will spit like it's lost some kind of suction and feels like I hit the brakes almost. Then it goes back to running fun. I can be sitting idling to take off and let the clutch out and it will cut off dead. But will fire back up and go like nothing happened. What is causing this ?

I know that a lot of the earlier Twin Cam bikes had trouble with the main breaker. It would "open," cutting all power, and then reset itself almost instantly. I don't know if '02 was one of the affected years or not, but the breaker can be had for cheap at any auto parts store and it's a ten minute "fix." I'm not normally a fan of taking shots in the dark but in this case it might be worth it.

Funny you say that..I was thinking something along those lines....Haven't tried wiggling the switch but I will...when it does it...it sounds like it's gasping for a breath of air / and feels like I am hitting my brakes at the same time.....then runs like nothing happened. Usually cuts off at take off, or does what I described at a slower speed.

Shorted ignition switches were pretty prevalent with early Evo Softails where the dash was a two-piece affair and the switch mounted to the base plate but it hasn't really been a problem since they went to the one-piece dash. I'm not saying that it can't be your problem by any means, but it's not something that I would suspect right off the bat.
