2013 heads on 02 95 big bore upgrade
I have a 2002 fatboy that has been upgrades to the 95 big bore kit with 203 cams, SE 6200 ignition module, 42 mm mikuni carb. and stock heads. I am looking to do a head upgrade and have wondering if 2013 roadking heads would work as replacements. The heads I am looking at have stage 1 upgrade and I know Harley made some upgrades on their heads after my 02 was built.......any suggestions would be helpful as far as head upgrades, cam upgrades and exhaust upgrades as well.....this is decription of head work done to 2013 rk heads............
Stage I modification includes:
Fully Polished combustion chamber - prevent hot spots which lead to pre-ignition/detonation and it helps fuel economy
Full porting of both intake and exhaust runner.
Polishing of both runners to ideal surface finish.
100 grit intake for increased velocity and better air/fuel atomization
Fully polished exhaust keeps velocity high and carbon build up down.
Retained factory guides and 7mm valves. (1.805 int. /1.575 exh.)
Factory Beehive springs rated up to .600" lift.
Lapping of both Intake and Exhaust valves.
New H-D valve seals.
All gasket surfaces are lightly planed flat to assure proper seating of gaskets.

1. no need to polish the chambers (if you get any detionation from the texure of a stock combustion chamber, your tune is WAY off)
2. have 1.900 intakes installed (including having the ports & bowls set for the larger valves)
3.the stock valve job sucks (just lapping them wount do anything),get a SERDI raduised valve job done
4. nothing wrong with stock springs (beehive in the late heads) for the 203 cams
if you want to just bolt on a set of the later heads,it will be an improvement over your earlier heads, and having the "improvments" you have listed will do NOTHING for any more velocity, more CFM or atomization.the heads will flow & perform the same as they were un-touched
