You are close to wfo larry contact him @ http://www.larrysmotorcyclemachine.com. I would at least contact him to see what he thinks. Don't buy any heads for what you are trying to do.

Out of the three, the 574's would be my choice.your heads with 1.9/1.575 valves, mildly ported with emphasis on low end Tq.dont bother with roller rockers, fueling pump or plate, the OEM parts are fine.if you want or need a new pump,go with a thayer or S&S

Thanks everyone for the info, definitely helpful. I'll give WFO Larry a call. prodrag1320, I was leaning towards the 574 but had talked to an HD mechanic who recommended the SE255. Was considering going to the 1.9 intake and leaving the 1.575 exhaust alone. Had read some dyno testing where the guy said that was a good combination.
Thanks again to everyone.

it would figure a HD tech would go for the 255,since they are basicly trained with SE products.if your looking for very low end TQ,go with a S&S .551 or better yet,S&S .583.if you do go with headwork, stick with the 1.575 ex valve, but use a kibblewhite valve, same size diameter head, but different tulip, flow`s a lot better.

Prodrag thanks for the info. I'm not looking for real low end torque. I'm still leaning towards the 574. Sounds like a good cam to me. Think of having some mild head work and replacing the intakes with 1.9's. Think that will get it.

GeorgeW thanks for the number. I'll have to call and talk to him. From what I can tell, WFO Larry is up by Chicago. That's only about 2 1/2 hrs away.

Most SE heads you'll find have the quench removed from one side of the chamber and are 10 cc's larger in chamber volume, I have 107" pistons to suit if you go that route.

No real need for roller rocker arms with any of those cams, or the oil pump or cam plate for that matter.
A set of OE T/C castings, ported, with the correct chamber volume, will work VERY WELL.
Happy to help.
