I put one on my 1997 FLSTC. I like mine. It is stainless steel and it will turn a golden from the heat. I have not tried yet but supposedly it can be polished clean.
Mine has been on for 2 years and 30,000 plus miles and I can't be happier with it. Great torque / Hp and an adjustable baffle to adjust sound. Just remember that when you set that baffle to your liking and ride it for a year or two, the setting is permanent and the baffle simply won't move (not without a hammer anyway.) Got mine on sale for $450 delivered if memory serves, and the all black unit is easily kept looking new with a spray can of high heat grill paint.
I have no first hand experience with them but the people that have them seem to have positive things to say. I've always been curious how you would jet a carb to them since the back pressure is adjustable.

There is a difference between open/closed and AFR. So the trick is to set it (AFR) to whatever setting you choose for the baffle. As I said, unless you move it around regularly (keeping quiet sneaking out of your neighborhood and then opening it up when you're out of town,) it's gonna' freeze up on you anyway. If you do vary it regularly, you can set your AFR to the open setting and let it run a little rich in the closed setting.
