Default 89 tour glide classic questions

on a 89 tour glide classic, will those ebay lower leg fairings work with the oem crash bars? ive heard they are different on this bike, but when i look at pics and the microfiche they dont seem different? anyone know for sure....the 89's compared to 89-92 ultras? if they are different? will the ultra crash bars mount up on the tour glide so u can use the lower fairings?

also....im trying a couple options here
1. take off the radio caddy....if i do that, can u get oem plugs that cover up the wiring holes?
2. replace the housing? can u find the plastic housing anywhere? ive been calling like crazy to no avail....its part number 77070-88a black

I've seen those lowers, but haven't seen them on a FLT, so I don't know how well they fit. I'd be interested in your caddy if you decide to sell it. You should be able to find some generic hole plugs at your local hardware store

At least on the Road Glide, the lowers are different for FLH than FLTR. The lower main fairing mount is the culprit, but I think you could trim those lowers.

If I swapped the bars for internal wired bars with switches say from a softail of the same year...do u think they would plug right in and eliminate the radio controls?

If you only want to ditch the radio controls, you should be able to find the pieces to do that. Internally wired handlebars are a great thing for a show bike and not so good for something you want to ride.

Yep, those are the correct lowers for your bike. Nice find. Don't get into a bidding war with someone. Put your max bid in at the last few seconds. Remember others will probably do the same. Only noobies bid early.

Well, good luck. I've done a fair amount of business with the seller, always good parts at a good price.

If you are a gambler, the last bid goes in at about 8 seconds before the end ...

I say "gambler" because there's also a small chance your browser, network connection or Ebay servers will bork on you.

It's possible to screw yourself in your own *** by trying to be too mean. You'll always get good deals on Ebay to make up for more reasonably priced one, so see it as a kind of average.

What was the bottomline on this?

Are Tour Glide lowers the same as the other Tourers?

Show us which auction you bid on after it is over.
