I've bought a few Mustang seats. They are good quality, and I've found their customer service faultless.
It is the seat. Read my post. I can post pictures along with emails to customer service to ball up everything I have said. I didn't post to bad mouth mustang or needing technical advice. Im not new to this. Like I said, I've had them on my last 4 bikes. I've been very happy with them as well. Just wanted to let everyone know about this model being shorter.

Go with the wide touring and you'll be golden dude.

Thanks for the info Griz. I figured that was the case.

They are probably right, if you have a full sized passenger pad with arm rests it might fit. Yours seems to be very thin.

However, I think the way they use the term "sports" suggests it is going to be smaller, i.e. a "1.5", mostly one up and not for long distance two up riding.

What the problem, is your passenger too big to fit in the gap or is the backrest too far back for them?

They do that on Road Kings too. It acts like a chute for rainwater.
Yep. Picture of my 96' Road King.

I reckoned it did back in '96 . LOL

Didn't care much for the look when I bought it. Don't even notice it anymore

Yes, it does and you cannot even really cut it off and re-cover it as it sits a little too high. If you do, you have to bridge the plastic base.

The Mustang seats end where they should do at the end of the console.

I had an old Mustang that had a fibreglass base and another with a metal base. What are they making them from now?

That seat is for a EG which has a shorter console.

No, that's the way they were.

If you are average height and pushing up against it, the seat made you feel like you were wearing diapers.

We use a steel baseplate for the rear seats and pre-2008 solos for FL Touring. The 2-up seats and 2008-up solos are marine-grade fiberglass.
